Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth and let it air dry away from heat. Work a little leather conditioner into the braid once or twice a year. Store it hanging or loosely rolled so the weave doesn't get crushed.
Size & Fit
The belt comes in sizes XS to 3XL. Pick the size you'd normally buy in pants or jeans. Since there are no fixed holes, the prong can go through the braid at any point, so you still get a close fit between sizes. If you want an exact length rather than a size, choose made to measure, which costs nothing extra, and send us your waist measurement.
Strips of tan cowhide are braided by hand into a tight herringbone weave, about 1.5 inches wide. There are small gaps between the strands, so the prong of the buckle goes straight through the braid. That means no punched holes, and you can fasten it at exactly the length you want.
At the buckle end, the braid finishes in a flat leather tab that folds around the bar and is held with a brass stud. A stitched leather keeper holds the loose end in place. The antique brass on the buckle is muted rather than shiny, which suits the warm tan. It’s a casual belt, at home with jeans and chinos, and you can see how it compares with the plain-strap ones in our leather belts.
The leather
Each strand is cut from cowhide with a smooth, lightly polished face and darker shading along its edges. Cowhide is firm and hard-wearing, so the braid holds its shape well. With wear the tan deepens a little, and the weave relaxes where the belt bends around your waist.
