For a men’s leather jacket, cafe racer is the plainest shape we make: a stand collar that snaps at the throat, a straight zip up the middle, and no lapels, belt or epaulettes to work around. The cut is trimmer than a bomber and less shaped than a biker. Colors run from black and brown through chestnut, beige and burgundy. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting; every jacket is made after the order comes in.

The shapes on this page
The brown racer keeps to a two-snap stand collar, a straight zip, two zipped chest pockets and zipped cuffs. Torin takes the same idea into black, with two blue-gray stripes down each sleeve and stacked zip chest pockets. The burgundy one is a minimalist cafe racer leather jacket with something going on: a rub-off finish, diamond-quilted shoulders front and back, and four zipped pockets.
Quilting and rib knit turn up on other jackets here. The black quilted sheepskin is stitched in diamonds front and back, with ribbed panels on the shoulders and forearms. The black lambskin racer has pleated snap-flap chest pockets and a collar faced in rib knit. Collars vary: the Fast X jacket has a shirt collar, raglan sleeves and buttoned cuffs.
Several more sit in the same range. The men’s brown leather jacket is a warm tan with a soft shine across the chest and shoulders, and the retro distressed brown has dark shading worked into reddish-brown leather along the seams and across the chest. The distressed brown cafe racer shows a different color on almost every panel.
The darker ones differ in what they carry. The men’s black cafe racer jacket uses grid quilting as its only decoration, and the black leather motorcycle jacket has two white stripes around each upper arm. The red biker jacket is cut more like a racer than its name suggests, and the Tom Cruise Mission Impossible jacket is based on the black one from Rogue Nation.
Leather and how it wears
The black lambskin racer is soft from the first hour. The quilted sheepskin has more body to it and still sits light on the shoulders. The chestnut brown racer is sheep nappa, semi-fitted, with zipped cuffs held by press studs.
Fit and sizing
A cafe racer should close without the chest pulling, and where it has a stand collar that collar should sit on the neck rather than ride over it. Sizes and the chest and sleeve figures for each jacket sit in the size guide on its product page. If no size on the chart is yours, send your measurements at checkout and we cut the jacket to them.
How they are made
Each jacket is made to order, cut and stitched by hand, with YKK zips wherever there is a zip. Making and checking takes five to seven days, then about six to seven more in transit. Shipping is free worldwide. A standard size can go back within 30 days. A jacket cut to your own measurements can only be returned if it arrives damaged or faulty.
