Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Brushed leather marks if it's rubbed while wet, so blot rain off with a dry cloth rather than wiping. A suede brush lifts the nap when it flattens. Store it away from direct heat. It can't go in a washing machine.
Size & Fit
The tailored cut follows the body more closely than a classic aviator. Your regular size works over a shirt or a thin knit. This men’s chestnut brown shearling flying jacket pairs brushed lambskin with black leather, and the black does all the trimming: it binds the collar edge and both sides of the zip, outlines the slanted zipped hand pockets, and runs in bands around the hem and each cuff. That two-color edge is what sets it apart from the other men’s shearling jackets.
Between those black bands, rows of stitching quilt the hem and cuffs and give them some structure. The collar stands tall, lined in oatmeal shearling, and a tab with two snaps closes it at the throat. Yoke seams cross the chest and back, and the cut is tailored, so it sits close without feeling tight.
The leather
The lambskin has a brushed, slightly napped surface instead of a shine, and the chestnut color shifts a little across each panel, darker along the seams and lighter on the flat areas. Behind it is heavy sheepskin shearling, which is what you want from a shearling leather jacket in proper winter weather. The brushed surface darkens a little where it’s handled most.
