Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Clean the leather with a soft, damp cloth and rub in a conditioner once or twice a year. Take the hood off and hang the coat on a wide, shaped hanger. Keep it out of heavy rain and don't machine wash it.
Size & Fit
Shaped at the waist and a little fuller below, with room for a sweater or a blazer underneath. Most people should take their usual size, and go up one if you're between sizes or wear thick layers. If no size matches you, send your own numbers with the free Made to Measure option; we cut women's custom leather jackets and coats to them. A women’s brown leather coat for the coldest months, cut in warm lambskin and long enough to reach the knee. Under the hood, a high stand collar zips to the chin, and the front zip sits behind a snap placket that keeps the wind out.
The hood has a thick faux fur trim and a drawcord, and it comes off when you don’t need it. Stitched vertical panels run the full length, broken by a seam at the waist with a small tab at each side. Two zipped pockets sit upright at the hips. There’s no shearling on this one, but we keep it beside the women’s shearling leather jackets because it’s built for the same weather.
The leather
Lambskin is thin and light, and one of the softest leathers there is. On handmade leather coats this long that matters, because it drapes and moves as you walk instead of standing stiff. The brown has a natural sheen that gets richer at the creases, and the leather keeps softening the more you wear it.
