How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
- Shoulder: measure across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
- Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: with the jacket zipped and flat, measure straight across at the narrowest point between the armpit and the hem.
- Back length: measure from the base of the collar down to the hem.

Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Wipe it down with a damp cloth, keep it away from direct heat and hang it on a wide hanger. Condition the leather once or twice a year so it doesn't dry out at the creases. Don't machine wash it.
Size & Fit
Close through the shoulders and body, and cut to the hip. Take your usual size for a T-shirt or a blouse underneath, and go up one size if you want to fit a sweater under it. The size guide on this page has the chest and sleeve measurements. If you're between two sizes, Made to Measure is the better route and costs nothing extra: we cut women's custom leather jackets to whatever numbers you send.
Emily Wickersham wears this jacket as Ellie Bishop in season 14 of NCIS, over a plain white tee. It’s a pared-back black biker cut for women, without a belt or rows of studs. What’s left is an asymmetric silver zip, wide lapels that snap down at the points and a diagonal zipped pocket on the chest.
With so little on it, it’s more of an everyday jacket than a motorcycle one. Wear it zipped over a knit on a cold morning, or open with the lapels snapped down, the way Bishop wears it on the show. It’s cut close through the body and finishes at the hip, which puts it among the plainest of our women’s biker leather jackets.
The leather
Smooth black leather with a low sheen, so it keeps the flat, understated look of the jacket on screen. It’s supple from the start. With wear it creases gradually at the elbows and along the zip, and it softens enough that the lapels lie flatter against the chest after the first few months.
