How to measure a jacket you already own

Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
Shoulder: measure across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.
Waist, flat: with the jacket zipped and flat, measure straight across at the narrowest point between the armpit and the hem.
Back length: measure from the base of the collar down to the hem.

Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
Refunds go back to your original payment method.
The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Care Details

Wipe it down with a damp cloth and let it dry away from heat. Aniline leather takes marks and water more readily than coated leather, so blot rain spots quickly.

Size & Fit

Fitted through the shoulders and waist, then flared from the belt down. Take your usual size to wear it over a blouse or a thin knit. If you'll wear it over thick sweaters or a blazer, go up one. The size guide lists the chest and sleeve length for each size, and if none of them match, made to measure costs nothing and we'll cut the coat to your own.

Description

This women’s leather trench coat reaches the knee, with fine diamond quilting down the front panels and along both sleeves. The sides and most of the back are left smooth, and a quilted yoke across the upper back buttons down at the center. Mixing quilted and plain panels keeps a long black coat from looking heavy.

The front is double-breasted, with notch lapels and two rows of buttons. A belt with a square metal buckle pulls the waist in, and below it the coat flares out a little toward the hem. There’s a flap pocket on each side. It sits with our other women’s leather trench coats.

The leather

Aniline sheepskin is dyed through without a heavy surface coating, so it stays soft and shows the natural character of the skin. It’s light for a long coat, and the quilted panels add a little body and warmth. Handmade leather coats like this one crease and soften first where the panels are smooth, while the quilting holds its shape.
