How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
- Shoulders: measure across the back, from the top of one shoulder seam to the top of the other.
- Sleeve Length: measure from the shoulder seam, along the outside of the sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: keep the jacket zipped and flat, and measure straight across at the narrowest point below the chest.
- Back Length: measure down the back, from the base of the collar to the hem.

- Each jacket is made to order. It takes 5–7 days to make and check, then 6–7 days in transit with DHL, FedEx or SkyNet. Most orders arrive within 11–14 days.
- You'll get tracking details once your order ships.
- Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.
Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry away from radiators. Condition the cowhide once or twice a year, and keep the snaps and zips free of grit. Hang it on a wide hanger, and don't machine wash it.
Size & Fit
Fitted through the chest and waist, cut to sit at the hip. Take your usual size over a shirt or T-shirt, and go up one if you're between sizes or want a sweater underneath. The collar is the point of this men’s brown leather jacket. It stands tall around the neck and fastens with a strap and a snap at the throat, so you can close it right up on a windy day. The shell is dark brown cowhide, and a placket with brass snaps covers the zip.
There are pockets everywhere. Each side of the chest has a zipped pocket above a flap pocket, there’s a side entry pocket at each hip, and one more inside. Epaulettes sit on the shoulders, a band finishes the hem, and the cuffs zip open with a snap tab to close them. It’s one of the heavier leather jackets for men we make.
The leather
Cowhide is the heavier, tougher choice in a leather jacket for men. It’s thicker than sheepskin or lambskin and holds its shape, so the tall collar stands up by itself and the pocket flaps stay flat. It feels firm for the first few weeks, then gives at the elbows and shoulders as it breaks in.
