How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
- Shoulders: measure across the back, from the top of one shoulder seam to the top of the other.
- Sleeve Length: measure from the shoulder seam, along the outside of the sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: keep the jacket zipped and flat, and measure straight across at the narrowest point below the chest.
- Back Length: measure down the back, from the base of the collar to the hem.

Description
Pale tan leather tape runs along the main seams of this RAF aviator shearling leather jacket, and on the back it crosses in a grid over mottled brown sheepskin. Ginger shearling fills the collar and folds back over the cuffs.
A worn-in brown shell
The outside is finished to look old. As a distressed brown shearling jacket it is darker in patches, with a slightly cracked surface across the back, and the tan taping stands out against it down the sleeves and around the front. Inside is shearling, the same ginger fleece that shows at the collar, cuffs and hem. It is thick enough to sit with the men's shearling jackets made for real cold.
Big collar and buckle straps on the RAF aviator shearling leather jacket
The large collar stands up around the neck and fastens with tan leather throat straps. The front closes with a YKK zipper that runs at an angle, off center, and there are two hand pockets below it. At the hem, a tan buckle strap sits at each side to cinch the waist. The shearling cuffs turn back over the sleeves. The flight-jacket shape is why it sits with the men's aviator leather jackets.

Cut and sizing
There is room through the body and arms for a thick knit under the shearling. Take your usual size and use the hem straps for any extra at the waist. You choose a men's or women's cut when you order, and for a men's shearling aviator jacket the standard chart covers chest and sleeve length. When your shoulders or arms fall outside it, made to measure is free and we cut to your numbers.

- Each jacket is made to order. It takes 5–7 days to make and check, then 6–7 days in transit with DHL, FedEx or SkyNet. Most orders arrive within 11–14 days.
- You'll get tracking details once your order ships.
- Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.
Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
