Every number below is the jacket itself, measured flat on a table, not your body. The chest and waist figures cover half the jacket, so double them for the measurement all the way around. Each jacket is cut and sewn after you order, to the size on your order.

How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
- Shoulder: measure across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
- Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: with the jacket zipped and flat, measure straight across at the narrowest point between the armpit and the hem.
- Back length: measure from the base of the collar down to the hem.
If nothing on the chart fits, made to measure is free. The eight body measurements we need are on the product page, just above the Add to cart button. A jacket cut to your measurements cannot be returned unless it arrives damaged or faulty, so check each figure first.

- Each jacket is made to order. It takes 5–7 days to make and check, then 6–7 days in transit with DHL, FedEx or SkyNet. Most orders arrive within 11–14 days.
- You'll get tracking details once your order ships.
- Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.
Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Brushed leather marks more easily with water than smooth leather. Lift the surface with a suede brush and treat it with a suede and nubuck protector spray before the first wear. Dry it away from heat and don't machine wash it.
Size & Fit
Fitted at the waist and close through the arms. Take your usual size to wear it over a T-shirt or a fine knit. The shaping doesn't leave much room for a thick sweater, so size up if you plan to layer, or use Made to Measure, which is how we cut custom leather jackets for women who sit between sizes. Most shearling leather jackets for women are cut boxy. This one is shaped: curved seams take the waist in at the front and back, and the hem flares out a little over the hips, so the dark brown leather follows the body the way a biker does.
The shearling is at the collar and the cuffs: wide notched lapels in pale cream that fold open when the off-center zip is undone, and deep turned-back cuffs at the wrists. Two vertical zipped pockets sit at a slight angle on the front. As a leather and shearling jacket it’s on the light side, since the wool stops at the collar and cuffs, so you get more of the year out of it. It’s the most fitted of our women’s aviator leather jackets.
The finish
The leather has a brushed, distressed surface with lighter patches where the finish has been worked, so the color isn’t perfectly even. It’s soft and matte, nearer to suede than to shiny leather. Small scuffs blend into the finish instead of standing out, and the brown deepens a little with wear.
