How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
- Shoulders: measure across the back, from the top of one shoulder seam to the top of the other.
- Sleeve Length: measure from the shoulder seam, along the outside of the sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: keep the jacket zipped and flat, and measure straight across at the narrowest point below the chest.
- Back Length: measure down the back, from the base of the collar to the hem.

Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Brush the shearling now and then to stop it matting, and wipe the leather with a damp cloth. Let it dry naturally, never on a radiator, and hang it on a broad hanger. Don't wash it; take stains to a sheepskin specialist.
Size & Fit
Cut with room through the chest and body, so it goes over a shirt and a knit. Take your normal size. The shearling takes up space inside, so go up one if you plan to layer heavily. Between sizes, made to measure costs nothing extra, and tailored leather jackets start from the figures you send us. Check the size guide before you order.
The B3 started out as a flying jacket for bomber crews, and this men’s shearling jacket sticks closely to that pattern. The shell is black sheepskin and the inside is gray shearling, which folds out to form the wide collar and shows again at the cuffs and all around the hem. Turn the collar up and it covers your neck and the sides of your face.
The zip runs up one side of the front, off center, so you can wear it zipped to the neck or open with the shearling lapels folded back. At the back, a leather strap crosses the hem with a buckle at each side for pulling the waist in. It shows up in both our men’s aviator leather jackets and our men’s shearling jackets.
The leather and shearling
The sheepskin shell has a soft sheen and creases at the elbows and around the hem strap. The shearling inside is thick. Wool traps warm air but still lets moisture out, so the jacket stays comfortable on a cold day without feeling clammy. A leather and shearling jacket weighs more than a plain leather one, and most of that weight is wool.
