Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.

- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Wipe the leather with a damp cloth and keep the jacket away from direct heat. Spot-clean the patches with a barely damp cloth, and brush the mouton collar when it starts to flatten. Don't machine wash or soak it.
Size & Fit
Slim through the body and short enough to sit at the waist, where the knit band holds it. Take your usual size over a T-shirt or a shirt, and size up if a sweater is going underneath. The size guide gives chest and sleeve measurements for each size. If standard sizing has never worked for your arms, send your own chest and sleeve with the Made to Measure option, since tailored leather jackets cost nothing extra here.
The G-1 is the US Navy’s leather aviator jacket, and that’s what “Navy” in the name refers to, not the color: this one is dark brown. It has a brown mouton collar, knit cuffs and a knit waistband, and it carries the patch set Maverick wears in Top Gun.
Embroidered patches cover both sides of the chest and run down the sleeves. On the back, the large Far East Cruise and USS Galveston patch sits across the shoulders with more below it. Under all that, it’s a standard G-1: a zip front with a wind flap, a throat tab under the collar and two flap pockets low on the front. It’s the most decorated of our men’s leather bomber jackets.
The leather and patches
The leather is dark brown with a soft, pebbled texture and a slight sheen. It creases at the elbows and around the pockets as it wears in, and the color deepens a little with handling. The patches are embroidered and sewn on, so they hold up to regular wear and won’t peel.
