?Around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms, with the tape level.
?Around the narrowest part of your waist, usually just above the belly button.

?Across your back, from the edge of one shoulder to the other.
?From the top of the shoulder down to the wrist bone, with your arm hanging straight.

Every number below is the jacket itself, measured flat on a table, not your body. The chest and waist figures cover half the jacket, so double them for the measurement all the way around. Each jacket is cut and sewn after you order, to the size on your order.

How to measure a jacket you already own

  • Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
  • Shoulder: measure across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
  • Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.
  • Waist, flat: with the jacket zipped and flat, measure straight across at the narrowest point between the armpit and the hem.
  • Back length: measure from the base of the collar down to the hem.

Description

A tall collar snaps shut at the side of the throat, and below it the front closes with a row of snaps that curves off-center down to the hem. There's no zip on the outside, which gives this cropped leather jacket an older, workwear feel. It's black sheepskin, cut for women, and it stops at the waist.

Two flap pockets with snaps sit just above the hem. The body is boxy, with wide sleeves that end in a stitched cuff band. A cropped leather jacket for women works with high-waisted pants or a skirt, where the short length shows. Longer cuts are in our women's custom leather jackets if you'd rather cover the hip.

The leather

Matte black sheepskin with a soft, lightly grained surface. It's light for its size and creases easily, which you can already see in the photos around the pockets and sleeves. Those creases deepen with wear and give it a lived-in look fairly quickly. The insulated lining adds warmth on cooler days.

Fit and sizing

A regular fit with some room in the body, and the cropped length keeps it from looking bulky. Take your usual size. There's space for a shirt or a fine knit underneath, but if you want a chunky sweater under it, go up one. Check the chest measurement in the size guide against a jacket you own, or have it made to measure from your own numbers at no extra cost.

Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry at room temperature. Matte leather can darken under an oily conditioner, so choose a light cream and try it on the inside of a cuff first.

  • Each jacket is made to order. It takes 5–7 days to make and check, then 6–7 days in transit with DHL, FedEx or SkyNet. Most orders arrive within 11–14 days.
  • You'll get tracking details once your order ships.
  • Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.

Returns

  • Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
  • Refunds go back to your original payment method.
  • The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
  • Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
  • Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
