How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
- Shoulders: measure across the back, from the top of one shoulder seam to the top of the other.
- Sleeve Length: measure from the shoulder seam, along the outside of the sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: keep the jacket zipped and flat, and measure straight across at the narrowest point below the chest.
- Back Length: measure down the back, from the base of the collar to the hem.

- Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.
Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Keep the long wool on the hood fluffy by brushing it after you wear it, and if it gets wet, let it dry naturally. Wipe the leather clean with a damp cloth. Don't machine wash any part of it, hood included.
Size & Fit
Roomy by design, with space for a thick knit or a hoodie. For a closer look, go down one size; for the full, relaxed shape, stick with your usual one. It's a big shearling jacket; men's sizes run from XS to 3XL, and the chest and sleeve figures for each are in the size guide. If none of them match your build, Made to Measure has it made up to the numbers you send.
This men’s hooded brown shearling jacket is dark brown sheepskin, with a deep hood lined in long ginger wool and drawcords to pull it in around your face. The hood is removable, so on milder days you can take it off and wear the jacket without it. Hoods are rare on leather jackets for men cut from sheepskin.
Below the hood there’s a small leather tab at the neck, a center zip and two slanted hand pockets. Buckle adjusters on both sides of the hem take in the waist, and there’s more ginger wool at the cuffs and hem. It sits at the hip and is cut roomy, in the style of the WW2 flying jackets.
The sheepskin
The leather is a very dark brown, close to black in low light, with a smooth surface and a gentle shine. The ginger wool on the hood and trims is long and straight rather than tightly curled, so it feels soft against your face. It loosens up quickly and creases where the arms bend, as the sheepskin does across the men’s shearling jackets here.
