Men's Size Guide

Every figure below is the jacket itself, measured flat, not your body. Double the flat chest and flat waist to get the measurement all the way around, or read the doubled figures from the rows marked around. All figures are in inches. Each jacket is cut to the size on your order.

How to measure a jacket you already own

  • Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
  • Shoulders: measure across the back, from the top of one shoulder seam to the top of the other.
  • Sleeve Length: measure from the shoulder seam, along the outside of the sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
  • Waist, flat: keep the jacket zipped and flat, and measure straight across at the narrowest point below the chest.
  • Back Length: measure down the back, from the base of the collar to the hem.

If nothing here fits, made to measure is free. The eight measurements sit on the product page, just above the Add to cart button. A jacket cut to your own measurements can't be returned for fit, so check your figures before you order.

Description

Two blue-gray stripes around each upper arm are what separate this men's black leather cafe racer from a plain one. They're leather, set into the sleeve, and the same blue-gray shows again inside the cuff zips when you open them. Nothing else among our leather jackets for men is marked this way.

The rest is kept simple. There's a low stand collar with a snap tab, a straight zip, two short zip pockets stacked on the left chest and two zipped hand pockets. Rows of padded stitching run over the shoulders and upper sleeves, and a snap tab closes the hem band at the foot of the zip. Like the other men's cafe racer leather jackets, it needs nothing more than dark jeans and white sneakers, as in the photos.

The leather

The black leather has a soft, slightly crinkled surface and a low sheen, not a hard gloss. It moves easily from the first wear. Over time it creases at the elbows and along the zip, while the black stays deep and the stripes keep their contrast.

Fit and sizing

A slim racer cut that sits close at the chest and waist. It's a good first leather jacket for men who don't want anything boxy. Over a T-shirt, take your usual size; for a hoodie or a heavier knit, go up one. Compare the size guide against a jacket you own, or send your own figures and we'll cut it to measure for nothing extra.

Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth after wear and let it dry away from heaters and sun. Condition the black leather once or twice a year, but test the conditioner on the stripes first, since it can darken them. Never machine wash it.
