Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and let it dry at room temperature. Lambskin dries out faster than heavier leathers, so condition it twice a year. Hang it on a wide hanger rather than folding it, or the chest pockets will crease.
Size & Fit
Regular through the body, so it's an easier leather jacket for men than a strict racer, with room for a shirt or a light sweater underneath. Take your usual size, and if you're between two, pick the larger. Measure a jacket you already own and compare it with the size guide, or send those numbers and have it cut as one of our custom made leather jackets, which costs nothing extra.
Most cafe racers leave the chest bare. This men’s black lambskin cafe racer puts two big pockets there instead: patch pockets with a center pleat and a snapped flap, and a separate zip pocket running across the top of each. You get room for a phone, keys and a wallet without anything bulging at the hips.
The stand collar is faced with black rib knit on the inside, so it’s soft against the neck. Diamond quilting covers the front of the shoulders, the hand pockets zip shut, and snaps at the cuffs and at the sides of the hem band let you tighten both. Lambskin keeps it light enough for spring and fall, unlike the men’s cafe racer leather jackets we cut from cowhide.
The leather
Lambskin is thin, smooth and very soft, and on black it has a natural shine. It needs no breaking in and feels right from the first wear. It does mark a little more easily than cowhide, but light scratches usually fade if you rub them with a warm hand or a little conditioner.
