Every number below is the jacket itself, measured flat on a table, not your body. The chest and waist figures cover half the jacket, so double them for the measurement all the way around. Each jacket is cut and sewn after you order, to the size on your order.

How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
- Shoulder: measure across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
- Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: with the jacket zipped and flat, measure straight across at the narrowest point between the armpit and the hem.
- Back length: measure from the base of the collar down to the hem.

- Each jacket is made to order. It takes 5–7 days to make and check, then 6–7 days in transit with DHL, FedEx or SkyNet. Most orders arrive within 11–14 days.
- You'll get tracking details once your order ships.
- Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.
Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Lambskin scuffs more easily than heavier leathers, so watch out for rough walls and bag buckles. Wipe it with a damp cloth, let it dry away from heat, condition it once or twice a year and hang it on a wide hanger.
Size & Fit
Cut big on purpose. Take your usual size for the loose, dropped-shoulder look in the photos. If you'd rather it sat closer, go down one size, though the sleeves will still be wide. There's plenty of room for a sweater underneath. The size guide has exact chest and sleeve measurements, and made to measure adds nothing to the price if you want it cut to yours.
Here the shape does the work. It’s an oversized black lambskin jacket, cut for women, with a collar that stands high enough to reach your jaw when zipped, shoulders that drop well past their natural line and sleeves that stay wide all the way to the cuff instead of tapering. The hem draws in slightly on elastic, so the body balloons a little above it. Most of our women’s custom leather jackets follow the body; this one deliberately doesn’t.
Beyond that it’s kept very plain: a straight center zip, two vertical zipped pockets at the sides and smooth black leather with no quilting or trim. Wear it over a turtleneck and tailored pants, or with jeans and a T-shirt on the weekend. If this much volume isn’t for you, the closer cuts are in our custom leather jackets for women.
The leather
Lambskin is thin and very supple, which is what lets a cut this big hang in soft folds instead of standing away from the body. The black has a clear shine when new. It dulls slightly and softens further with wear, and the folds at the elbows and waist settle into their own shape.
