How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
- Shoulders: measure across the back, from the top of one shoulder seam to the top of the other.
- Sleeve Length: measure from the shoulder seam, along the outside of the sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: keep the jacket zipped and flat, and measure straight across at the narrowest point below the chest.
- Back Length: measure down the back, from the base of the collar to the hem.

Description
Short and entirely black, this men's black shearling aviator jacket ends at the waist. The leather is black sheepskin, the wide collar is black shearling, and the zip runs off center, so when it's done up one side of the collar folds back and fastens with snaps.
The front is kept plain, with two long seams running down from the shoulders to the hem band. A leather strap and buckle on each hip draw the waist in, and the back is cut in four panels, split by a cross of seams. Plenty of leather jackets for men in this style pile on belts and trim; with none of that here, it reads as one clean shape and goes with black or blue jeans.
The sheepskin
Black sheepskin with a light natural grain that shows through the dye, and the wool kept on the inside. A leather shearling jacket cut from one hide like this is warm without being stiff, and the short length keeps the weight down. Small creases and grain marks are part of the hide, not faults.

It sits at the waist, so it looks best with jeans or pants worn at the natural waist, and the side buckles pull it in if it feels loose. Care
Black leather shows dust, so a wipe with a soft, damp cloth every so often keeps it looking dark. Brush the collar if the wool mats. Hang it on a wide hanger, away from heat, and never machine wash it.

- Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.
Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
