How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
- Shoulders: measure across the back, from the top of one shoulder seam to the top of the other.
- Sleeve Length: measure from the shoulder seam, along the outside of the sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: keep the jacket zipped and flat, and measure straight across at the narrowest point below the chest.
- Back Length: measure down the back, from the base of the collar to the hem.

Dalton Men's Leather Field Jacket in Walnut Brown
The Dalton is a men's leather field jacket in walnut brown full-grain cowhide. Its natural finish keeps the grain visible, with a low, warm sheen instead of a glossy coat. The color sits between dark brown and tobacco, and the antique brass hardware brings out its warmth. We kept the four-pocket layout of a traditional field jacket and gave it a cleaner, more modern cut.
A Front That Closes Two Ways
A brass zipper runs up the center, and a snap-button placket closes over it. The placket hides the zip line and adds a second layer across the front. Up top, the shirt collar has a snap throat tab, so you can close the neck on a cold walk or leave it open. A stitched yoke across the chest gives the front a structured, workwear look.
Four Utility Pockets, Plus Two Inside
Each pocket has a clear job. Two vertical zip pockets sit high on the chest for a phone or cards. Two large lower pockets close with snap flaps, so your keys and wallet stay put. Inside, two more pockets keep smaller items out of sight.
Adjustable snap cuffs let you tighten the sleeves on a windy day or loosen them over a watch. A straight hem keeps the lower edge clean.
Lining, Fit, and How to Wear It
A diamond-quilted viscose lining fills the body and gives the leather a little extra structure. The modern regular fit leaves room for a sweater or flannel shirt underneath without looking boxy.
Wear this dark brown leather jacket with raw denim, a henley, and work boots on weekends. For smart-casual days, layer it over an oxford shirt with chinos and suede chukkas. The walnut tone pairs especially well with olive, cream, and navy.

Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
