Every number below is the jacket itself, measured flat on a table, not your body. The chest and waist figures cover half the jacket, so double them for the measurement all the way around. Each jacket is cut and sewn after you order, to the size on your order.

How to measure a jacket you already own
- Chest, flat: zip the jacket, lay it flat, and measure straight across from armpit to armpit.
- Shoulder: measure across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
- Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.
- Waist, flat: with the jacket zipped and flat, measure straight across at the narrowest point between the armpit and the hem.
- Back length: measure from the base of the collar down to the hem.
If nothing on the chart fits, made to measure is free. The eight body measurements we need are on the product page, just above the Add to cart button. A jacket cut to your measurements cannot be returned unless it arrives damaged or faulty, so check each figure first.

- Each jacket is made to order. It takes 5–7 days to make and check, then 6–7 days in transit with DHL, FedEx or SkyNet. Most orders arrive within 11–14 days.
- You'll get tracking details once your order ships.
- Import duties or local taxes, where a country charges them, are paid by the customer.
Returns
- Returns, exchanges and refund requests within 30 days of delivery. Email info@theleathermaker.com with your order number to start one.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method.
- The jacket must be unworn, with the original tags attached and in its original packaging.
- Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the jacket arrived damaged or faulty.
- Made-to-measure and personalized jackets can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Care Details
Wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry at room temperature. Condition it once or twice a year so the lambskin stays soft. Keep it out of long spells of direct sun, which can fade brown leather, and out of the washing machine.
Size & Fit
Boxy by design, straight through the body with room at the waist. Take your usual size and it will sit square on the shoulders with space for a shirt or a light sweater. Size down only if you prefer it closer. The size guide on this page lists the measurements. A short, square jacket in milk-chocolate lambskin that sits closer to tailoring than to biker gear. The collar is a pointed shirt collar, and the zip hides under a narrow placket, so from the front you see a line of stitching running down from the collar and no hardware at all.
Two big flap pockets are stitched onto the lower front. The shoulders have light padding that squares them off, and the sleeves fall straight to the wrist without a cuff. The hem stops at the waist, so this cropped leather jacket suits tailored pants or a straight skirt worn high. We make the same cut in black, and both sit with our women’s cropped leather jackets.
The leather
The lambskin is smooth and supple, with a gentle shine that brings out the warmth of the brown. It’s light enough to wear on a mild day without feeling heavy. Brown lambskin darkens slightly and picks up a richer tone where your hands and arms touch it most, around the pockets and the elbows.
